Aldeco × Castro Lighting at Palacete Silva Monteiro

Project Overview

Location: Casa dos Vinhos Verdes - Palacete Silva Monteiro, Porto, Portugal
Partnership: Aldeco × Castro Lighting
Lighting Featured: Elea Table Lamp, Flow Floor Lamp, Streamline Wall Light

A Concept Inspired by Veva de Lima

The creative direction behind Aldeco’s 2026 collection draws inspiration from Veva de Lima, a prominent Portuguese figure of the 1920s, admired for her strong presence, impeccable style, and effortless elegance. More than a historical reference, she represents a way of living where sophistication was expressed through detail, posture, and atmosphere.

This spirit guided the entire shoot, from fabric textures to lighting placement. The objective was not to recreate the past, but to reinterpret it through a contemporary lens, allowing each element to feel timeless rather than nostalgic.

Light as a Silent Narrator

Castro Lighting’s pieces were carefully selected to complement the narrative without overpowering it. Each luminaire plays a subtle yet essential role, shaping the ambiance and enhancing the tactile richness of Aldeco’s textiles.

The Elea Table Lamp introduces a soft, intimate glow, ideal for accentuating textures and creating moments of calm within the composition. The Flow Floor Lamp adds verticality and fluidity, echoing the elegance of the space while gently guiding the eye through the room. Meanwhile, the Streamline Wall Light interacts with the palacete’s architectural details, emphasizing rhythm, depth, and balance.

Together, these lighting elements create an atmosphere that feels curated and lived-in, where light becomes an extension of the fabrics themselves.

Craftsmanship Meets Heritage

Shooting within Palacete Silva Monteiro allowed both brands to engage directly with Portuguese heritage. The space’s historic character reinforces the value of enduring craftsmanship, a principle shared by Aldeco and Castro Lighting alike.

This collaboration is rooted in a mutual respect for artisanal processes, materials that age beautifully, and design that transcends trends. By combining textile design and decorative lighting in a single visual language, the project highlights how different disciplines can converge to tell a cohesive story.

A Timeless Visual Statement

The Aldeco × Castro Lighting partnership is more than a product showcase. It is a celebration of Portuguese culture, feminine elegance, and the power of design to bridge past and present. Within the walls of Palacete Silva Monteiro, light and fabric come together to create scenes that feel intimate, cinematic, and enduring.

This project stands as a testament to how thoughtful collaborations can elevate creative vision, transforming historical spaces into contemporary design narratives.
